The process helps to produce over 25 percent more energy than coal and it is more energy-efficient. It is estimated a single tire contains about 5 gallons of oil.

 

Recycled tires can also be turned into many useful products. Many resourceful crafters have made a variety of creations from their old tires. They can be used for garden planters, playground equipment, outdoor furniture and decorative ornaments. The synthetic material from the tires has also been very effective in creating rubber modified running tracks, artificial playing fields and rubber modified asphalt. It should be noted that research shows tires slowly seep toxic chemicals into the surrounding environment on a long-term scale when exposed to the elements. Because of this, it is recommended edible plants are not grown in tires, but many other applications should be fine.

 

The days of burning your old tires are long gone.
